Pumpkins Galore

Fall is my absolute favorite.
The leaves, the smell of the fireplace, pumpkin anything baking in the oven, the colors of the trees, carving pumpkins.....all of it.

We went to a pumpkin patch this weekend, complete with a hayride, a corn maze and caramel apples. I loved the apples, but I'm not sure about the maze. We almost didn't go because of some rain, but just look at what can happen when you take a chance.

The rest of the weekend was pretty low key.
Some knitting, some go fish, a Skype date with France and some Halloween preparation.

Ruari went to the eye doctor on Friday. Turns out she's nearsighted and needs some reading glasses.

Despite the fact that he's still not walking, this little man gets into everything. EVERYTHING.

Teenagers love having their photo taken by the way!
Ruari and Charlotte made delicious cookies.
I wish there were some left.

We capped off the weekend with a quick and simple trip to the park. As usual, the whole thing came to an end way too quickly, but I love that we took advantage of those last few hours of sunlight to spend some more time together outside.

Monday morning, the baby is asleep, the kids are at school and I'm contemplating what comes next. October is rolling right along here and we'll be trick or treating before you know it so it's probably time to get serious about some costumes. Nuala really wants to go shopping, but I do not feel like spending a small fortune on costumes this year. I just might have to break my no Pinterest rule to get some ideas.
