Elm-alina

As most of you know, our kids have always enjoyed the enrichment of an ARTS education. Elm Creative Arts school has been home to all 5 of our oldest kids and the arts have played an important part in their development and schooling.

Every new school year is accompanied by a fall open house, and every open house showcases 'family projects' in the school's art gallery, the theme of which changes from year to year. The kind folks at Elm are even kind enough to mail out the topic mid-summer to give everyone a head start on their creativity.
I'd like to say that we plan, create and design ahead of time and complete our annual project with weeks to spare. Sadly, this is not the case and we are usually scrambling last minute to whip up a masterpiece.
Luckily for us, we do our best work under pressure.

"Family Crest" year had us dusting off the wood burning kit....

"What's For Dinner" had our mouths watering for dessert......

But I must admit that during the last open house, just this past fall, we really truly indisputably outdid ourselves, even if it was in our usual last minute frenzied fashion.
"Family Hat" night saw the birth of our fifth and less recognized daughter, Elm-alina......

Isn't she just a doll?
I have never been more thankful for a hot glue gun in all my days!
