Wedding Bells

I am really excited to announce that our long engagement may finally have an end in sight! We've talked about our wedding a hundred times since I said "yes", we've even gone so far as to create lists and to discuss details, but we have never taken a serious stab at actually planning anything. Until now.

We are finally getting serious about the big event and I am starting to get really excited. I think one of our biggest hurdles has been trying to figure out where to have our ceremony, we went back and forth between getting married in the middle of the woods to having more of a traditional hurrah in a hall somewhere. Naturally we both loved the woods idea better and couldn't really settle on the traditional approach, sorry guys we have a large family to support and can't really justify spending a small fortune on one day. We have kids to put through college and so we need a balance between lavish and practical.

Fortunately for us, Brendan happens to be sitting on a gold mine of potential and the solution to our problem has literally been right in front of us this entire time. Brendan's office building, the one Action Pact bought nearly 2 years ago, will be a beautiful spot to exchange our vows. Built in the middle of the 19th century, 1850's to be exact, this farmhouse is the fifth oldest building in our city and has about as much charm as you can imagine along with balconies, banisters and a ballroom to boot.

So consider this a rough draft of our Save The Date, because come August-ish 2010 we are going to be dancing in the front yard of this building and celebrating the love of our family. You know it's funny, I've never been one to fantasize over wedding cakes and ball gowns, but now that we are getting our act together on this, I can hardly wait!
